The Calumet River Yacht Boyz (CRYB) was established 0n 3/16/2008 in Riverdale, IL. The sole purpose was to fill a need for boaters in the Chicagoland area who wanted an independent club with its own governing body.
There was a need to have a club that focused on boater safety and well as having a great time on the water. Camaraderie was placed at the top of the list. The club wanted to provide an affordable organization and share information, knowledge, and resources to make boating fun and safe.
In 2008, ten men decided to step up to this challenge and establish this Yacht Club. The size of your boat was not important. Commitment to the club, caring and concern for members were paramount for club success.

On 9/22/08, a club motion carried to form autonomous Female arm of the Yacht Boyz that shall be named the “Yacht Boyz Mermaids.” The Mermaids assist the Yacht Boyz with projects and events throughout the season and are rewarded with exclusive, private Yacht Parties.
The CRYB continue to be the premiere Yacht Club encompassing the Chicagoland Area Waterways (CAWS) and are open to all individuals with a boat.
